Students who have perfect attendance (no absences, no tardies and no early dismissals will receive a perfect attendance award at the end of each trimester.

Leadership Corner


6th - 8th Grade

Morning Bell

All students are asked to stay in the playground in the morning where there is supervision.  The school bell rings at 8:25 a.m.  This bell serves two purposes.  The first purpose is middle school students are beginning class.  The second purpose is it serves as a warning bell for 1st - 5th grade students.  When the bell rings the students will have a chance to use the restroom or get a drink of water before class begins.  A whistle will be blown by yard duty and students will line up in the playground area with their class.  They will then proceed to walk to class in a quiet manner.

The Book Fair is coming to Joe Michell School! Grand Opening is May 22nd and will be open every day after school (for an hour) through Friday, May 26th. It will also be open during Open House on May 25th 5:30pm-7:30pm.  It will be open 8:15am-9:45am on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for parents that would like to beat the crowds and shop.

TK & K Orientation Meeting

There will be a TK & K Orientation Meeting on Tuesday, May 30th from 5:30pm - 7:00pm in K1. This orientation is for all incoming TK & K students who have registered and are approved to attend Joe Michell in the fall.  This meeting is for parents and the incoming student only, please no younger siblings.  Thank you

Ms. Martin and Science Fun!

Elementary Science

The week of February 6th ws Planetarium Week. Students in grades 1 to 5 had a chance to see the Solar System in action inside the LVJUSD's mobile planetarium.  February 16th is the Science Odyssey event at Junction Avenue School, from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Everyone is welcome! February is Livermore's Science and Engineering month, and you can find links to Livermore Science events offered by the library and airport on Ms. Martin's website. You can access Ms. Martin’s website by clicking here on Discover JMS/Teachers/1st-5th grade Science. Visit often  - the website is updated weekly.

Joe Michell School is a 2016 Gold Ribbon School
