Absences

Please remember to call in an absence to the attendance line.  925-606-4738, then press 2. Please remember that if your student is out for three or more days, we will need a doctor's note. Also see letter from LVJUSD's Director of Student Services regarding non-excused and excused absences.

Students who have perfect attendance (no absences, no tardies and no early dismissals will receive a perfect attendance award at the end of each trimester.

6th - 8th Grade

Morning Bell

All students are asked to stay in the playground in the morning where there is supervision.  The school bell rings at 8:25 a.m.  This bell serves two purposes.  The first purpose is middle school students are beginning class.  The second purpose is it serves as a warning bell for 1st - 5th grade students.  When the bell rings the students will have a chance to use the restroom or get a drink of water before class begins.  A whistle will be blown by yard duty and students will line up in the playground area with their class.  They will then proceed to walk to class in a quiet manner.

CAMPUS CATERING

The focus of the District Wellness Policy is the overall health of our students. To support the District Wellness Policy, Campus Catering is offering cookies as an ala carte item for K-5 students on Friday’s only

2016 Gold Ribbon School Award

The California Department of Education has recognized Joe Michell School for outstanding achievement in implementing academic content and performance standards. The state also recognized our school as a Title I Academic Achieving School, for success in significantly closing the achievement gap between high and low performing students.
